Cean's ABC

it's been quite a while since i say something about life these days. really busy w/ 2 main things - work & being a full-time mom. cean is now schooling. his 1st week in school was really something. he didn't cry at all. maybe because there was this 1 blonde european girl who cries all the time (she cried the whole week). the funniest thing was thurs & fri. his teacher told me he didn't speak to her, didn't sit down, didn't even touch a pencil & never did he put down his back pack! i was quite surprised since he was so excited about school he wud cry if i tell him 'no more school.'

anyways, i talked to him about it. told him he's not gonna play computer (he's addicted to net games at 4 1/2 years old) for 3 consecutive days until he participates in school by monday. i also told him 'no school' for 2 days (which was a small lie cos there really is no school on saturdays & sundays). it worked! his teacher told me he's really very cooperative & participating in school. i guess, he really didn't wanna lose his computer thing. :) big deal.

last tuesday wasn't really good in a way. just 10 minutes before i picked him up, he was accidentally hit on the head by the swing on the playground
. quite minor, i was relieved. the teachers were fast to give him 1st aid. on his 2nd week of school, i was summoned to the principal's office! ha ha ha

full-time mom

cean's baby-sitter has left beijing last week for a month-long vacation. she's askin for 2 months actually & if we r not really that busy we might give it to her. she's actually due to fly by august but since we r not that full w/ our projects right now, we decided to let her have it earlier.

there was not much new for quite a while so there wasn't anything to blog about.

so what happened for a week as a full-time mom? the 1st few days was like my blood will dry out. cean is so picky w/ his food or maybe he just doesn't hav the appetite like i didn't when i was a kid. so we tried another trick - just let him be. he may not be eating a lot but he has his vitamins & food supplements & he seldom gets sick so maybe he's ok. must be a good trick 'cause for few days now he's eating more than i can remember!

by the way, the picture here was taken last year, down south to shenzhen.

my bro-in-law's beijing tour

this photo was taken last sunday, when we went to see my bro-in-law at his hotel where he is billeted until tomorrow. he's here on a package tour w/ some of his colleagues, the package itself was given to them as an incentive by their company. cool. everything free from the hotel accommodation to food & snacks to trips to all important beijing scenic spots (the great wall included ofcourse, cos u hav never been to china if u hav never been to see the WALL). anyways, he's been here last year w/ my sister & nephew & been to a lot of places already so there's nothing much new to him. the trip is free & he really would like to go shopping again where everything is from reasonable to cheap :)

waiting for him that nite took a couple of hours. the worst part of any group tour when u hav to wait for everybody for evrything. cean had a very late nite but he was happy to wait w/ his coke (bad for him but he likes it & i let him have it not often) & ice cream.

travertine craze

took an early afternoon train back to beijing from the site. just when we were not in a hurry to go home, the client seems like pushing us to go back to beijing & start w/ all the revisions he requested for the project. travertine crazy he seems. he met some guy who could supply him w/ the same travertine we specified for the lobby (photo attached) at a much cheaper price he wants to use the material again in the western restaurants. not that we are complaining, the material is really beautiful & elegant.

also went to the roof top, looks like a really cool place for a restaurant bar.

the dark side of the force

above is a self-photo just before we went to watch episode 3. the waiting is finally over for the 3rd & final installment in the star wars prequel trilogy - the sixth Star Wars movie overall. managed to get a ticket on the next day after the world premire. how's the movie? entertaining but like i said...
it would be a lot better if hayden christensen is convincing enough to play anakin.
the movie seems to be squeezed in 2 hours 26 mins. i think still it's better if the film is according to the script (w/c includes scenes that don't appear in the movie itself) i read a couple of weeks ago.
